Women's Health
HRSA works to eliminate health disparities, improve health equity and is committed to improving the health, safety, and well-being of women and girls across the lifespan.Improving Health Equity for Women
The Health Center program supports health centers that provide high quality primary health care to nearly 10 million women each year, meeting or exceeding national quality indicators for perinatal health, preventive care and chronic disease management. Health centers provide care without regard to ability to pay and are located in every U.S. state.Ryan White HIV/AIDS program serves more than 155,000 women each year, providing medical, dental and behavioral health care and supporting services. The Ryan White program works with cities, states and community-based organizations to provide services to people without adequate health insurance or other resources to cope with HIV disease.
Maternal and Child Health programs benefit more than half of all pregnant women in the U.S., more than one in three children birth to age 22 and one in four children with special health care needs. They also work to reduce infant mortality and build healthy communities where people can achieve their health potential.
